Risk Disclosures
Last updated: draft
Perigee moves real value on a public blockchain and depends on markets and third parties. Read these risks before depositing. They are not exhaustive, and nothing here is investment, legal, or tax advice.
1. You can lose funds on the wrong network
Deposits work on Robinhood Chain (chain id 4663) only. Assets sent on any other network, or tokens other than USDG, ETH, CREDIT, and ORBIO, are not recoverable. Always confirm the network before sending.
2. CREDIT is product access, not cash
CREDIT represents a dollar of inference usage. It is not money, a deposit, or a security, and Perigee does not redeem it for cash. Its market price moves and can fall. Activating CREDIT is one-way: once activated into your API lane it can never be turned back into cash or withdrawn. Unactivated CREDIT can be sold back to the market at whatever price the market offers, which may be a loss.
3. Market and automation risk
Buying, selling, and staking happen at third-party market prices that change continuously. Your automation acts within the bounds you set, but bounds do not guarantee outcomes: fills can be worse than quoted within your slippage tolerance, liquidity can dry up, and staking rewards can fall. You are responsible for the policy you configure.
4. Withdrawals are gated
Withdrawals pay out in USDG, unactivated CREDIT, or deposited ORBIO to wallets you verify by signature. They require a one-time operator review of your workspace, honor a chargeback holding period for any card-funded balance, and are subject to minimums, a daily cap, and approval above a threshold. Withdrawals can be paused or frozen to investigate disputes or fraud, to meet legal obligations, or when pool liquidity is temporarily insufficient.
5. Custody and smart-contract risk
Funds are held in a treasury controlled by a signing key. Signing is constrained by an allowlist and spending caps, and hardware-backed custody is being rolled out; until then the signing key is held as encrypted material by the operator, which is a concentration of risk. Perigee also interacts with third-party smart contracts (the exchange, staking, and AMM) whose bugs or exploits could cause loss. There is no deposit insurance.
6. Regulatory uncertainty
Converting funds to and from crypto and enabling withdrawals is an area of evolving regulation and may be treated as money transmission or another regulated activity in some jurisdictions. Availability of features may change to comply with law. Signature-based wallet verification proves control of a wallet, not identity, and is not a substitute for any identity checks that may be required. You are responsible for your own tax and legal obligations.
7. Beta software and third-party dependence
The Service is early software under active development and depends on Orbio, model providers, Robinhood Chain, and other infrastructure. Any of them can fail, change terms, rate-limit, or terminate access, which can interrupt or end the Service. Do not deposit more than you can afford to have locked up or lost.
